BongBong’s Piaya and Barquillos assures the public that the products are SAFE FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION

This concerns the FDA Advisory 2021-1589 issued on June 21, 2021. BONGBONG’S PIAYA AND BARQUILLOS assures the public that BONGBONG’S ORIGINAL/PLAIN PIAYA is SAFE FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in the abovementioned Advisory, issued a warning against the purchase and consumption of BongBong’s Original/Plain Piaya for the reason that the product was “not registered and no corresponding Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) has been issued”.

We acknowledge though that the staff whose task was to monitor business-related documents such as our application for FDA-CPR committed some lapses in monitoring our application, which eventually led to its non-registration.

In the letter of denial received by BONGBONG’S from the FDA, it was revealed that the reason for denial were TECHNICALITIES and NOT SAFETY of the product.

BONGBONG’S PIAYA AND BARQUILLOS also underscores that the application for FDA-CPR for BongBong’s Original/Plain Piaya was made simultaneous with that of BONGBONG’S UBE PIAYA, and that the UBE PIAYA was APPROVED, and has received its FDA-CPR;

In view of the foregoing, BONGBONG’S PIAYA AND BARQUILLOS once more assures the public that BONGBONG’S ORIGINAL/PLAIN PIAYA is SAFE FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION and that the company is currently processing the reapplication for the FDA-CPR, and has addressed the technical issue pointed out by FDA.

We also assure our customers and patrons that such lapse in monitoring our FDA-CPR applications and other similar business-related requirements, will not happen again.
